Room 57 Gallery, Untitled Artwork Honest, Miami // November 29, 2022 – December 04, 2022

Room 57 Gallery is proud to provide an electrical quartet of modern artists Yam Shalev, Andrea Kamini Parikh, Roxanne Jackson, and Jude Hughes on the Untitled Artwork Honest in Miami Seashore this week. In combination their paintings paperwork a funny simulacrum of an outside picnic, functioning as each social critique and birthday celebration. Upon the partitions, seven colourful art work through Yam Shalev grasp, that includes luxurious meals, wine, material, and seating, suggesting abundance and joyful celebration.

Within the heart of the show, Andrea Kamini Parikh’s naturally dyed and hand-tufted “Campfire Scorching Canine Rug” on an astroturf ground, conjuring a way of “camp” throughout the simulation of outside. Drawing the attention against the center, Jude Hughes’ sparkling tendrils of his LED magnetic touch-sensitive lamps mimic a sparkling fireplace. And in the end, a relic from the twisted international of Roxanne Jackson: a disembodied ceramic hand, sweet coloured inexperienced with 80’s memphis design squiggles, clutches a scorching canine for expensive lifestyles as its sinews pour out like flooring red meat thru a meat grinder, including an humorous-albeit-unsettling contact to the grander theme. As every artist investigates the time-tested matter of a banquet, they achieve this with a modern freshness accomplished through colourful colours and interdisciplinary media. By way of mining this extremely odd matter for its summary qualities, their paintings unearths new techniques of seeing. Jointly, their paintings each invitations and scrutinizes a communal collecting: posing an in the long run fashionable query to the target market: how can we each critique and take part? This curation examines the emblem of a picnic as a mental metaphor; an area the place the crossroads of social standing and human ambition, private and non-private area, in addition to pleasure and intimacy happen–one of those “déjeuner sur l’astroturf.”

On show thru December 4th at Sales space C52 at Untitled Artwork Honest.
